On my way up to the Mardi Himal basecamp, I stopped in many of the hillside villages. Life is simple there. People live the way they have for thousands of years, using only simple curved knives for cutting crops and wicker baskets to carry product back to the village center.
Rice is the main crop in the foothills. If you're in these villages at the right time of year, at the right time of day, when the sun is out, the fields almost glow.
